On Saturday 26 July 2003, the Australian Taxation Office's (ATO) call centre will open during working hours. Firms with queries about their quarterly business activity statement (BAS) can call the ATO during the week or on 26 July. The next BAS must be lodged by 28 July 2003. Tax agents submitting via the electronic lodgement service (ELS) may qualify for a two-week extension. The ATO has also published a fourth quarter activity statement update on its web site.
