The Commonwealth Bank of Australia's (CBA) customer service culture is about to be overhauled. Modelled on its highly profitable low-cost New Zealand subsidiary ASB Bank, it involves cutting 600 jobs, implementing new technologies and reviewing the union award to allow for more flexible working hours. CBA CEO David Murray, under fire recently for executive bonuses, said the bank's "cultural transformation" along with its restructuring work and wealth management business, would influence its financial performance.
