Prospects are looking up for Australian businessman, James Packer, in late August 2003. The executive chairman of Publishing and Broadcasting Limited (PBL) has presided over a 42 profit rise and is looking to put the One.Tel disaster behind him. Deutsche Bank has lifted its 2003-04 profit forecast for PBL by 2 percent to $A401.5 million, while ABN Amro is predicting a $A382 million profit. PBL shares closed at $A11.05 on 29 August 2003, their highest figure for two years.
