Online health records are fraught with dangers. The University of Newcastle's Dr Brian Regan said access to records raised privacy and security issues, but of even more concern was accuracy to ensure proper treatment rather than who had access. He said clinical information was increasingly complex. The University of New South Wales's Steven Tippet said social change was needed to overcome fears of the new technology.
