Papers chase job ads leader: analyst.

Australia's market leader in online job advertising, seek, takes a risk with its new partner. Kerry Packer-controlled Publishing & Broadcasting (PBL) announced on 4 August 2003 it will pay $A33 million for a 25 per cent holding in seek. According to Jupiter Research analyst, Niki Scevak, Australian newspaper publishers cannot afford to ignore the growing online classified sector. He say they get half their revenue from classified advertisements and about a quarter from Internet recruitment advertising. PBL's rival publisher, John Fairfax Holdings, has its own job site, mycareer.com.au, while News Limited has careerone.com.au.
