Australasian Business Intelligence, August, 2003

Aug 07, 2003 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX)

Australia's biggest office products supplier, Corporate Express (CE), maintained flat profits in 2002-03. Net profit came in at $A21.54 million, compared with $A21.38 million previously. MD, Grant Harrod, said on 7 August 2003 that his company has focused more on small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to fill the ordering gap caused by the big companies slashing their normal office supplies budgets. Westpac Bank is another Australian company to lift its concentration on the growing SME sector. Corporate Express's share price shed $A0.07 to $A5.00.
