Big M dials into mobile phones.

US software company Microsoft has confirmed its push into the broader mobile telephone consumer market. Calum Russell, from Microsoft Australia, said that the company was looking to target the consumer side of the business, to expand the use of Microsoft software in mobile devices. Russell said that the company was interested in forming partnerships with telcos, such as Telstra and Optus, and other specialised mobile telephone software developers, rather than treating them as customers. He said that research had shown that mobile information accessibility was a major productivity issue for companies.
