Australasian Business Intelligence, September, 2003

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has signed a three-year deal with Korean Air Cargo. The airline is using a freighter belonging to a rival alliance. However, SAS says it has teamed up with Korean Air Cargo because none of its Wow alliance partners operate from the US east coast directly to Copenhagen. The deal has been agreed to by other Wow alliance members - Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines and Japan Air Lines. SAS says it will be losing its daily passenger flights between New York and Copenhagen in September 2003. It will also lose 10 tonnes of bellyhold cargo a flight, and so has signed the deal with Korean Air Cargo.
