Identity software a "failure".

An Australian biometrics expert has warned against relying on face recognition software for protection against terrorists. Roger Clarke of the University of New South Wales says the software should not be installed until all flaws are removed. Some biometrics software has failed to distinguish between non-Caucasian men, while other programs have allowed entry to people holding photographs of an approved face. Since the 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks in the US, Australian airports and government departments have begun implementing biometric software systems.
