Spam rules: study.

A new international study has found that unsolicited bulk e-mails or "spam" make up most of the world's e-mail traffic. Internet Industry Association of Australia CEO, Peter Coroneos, said that the two-year study had found that spam or so-called "junk e-mail", including fraudulent advertising and pornography, created a host of problems for computer users. Coroneos said that the study had found that spam slowed legitimate e-mails and also posed a significant virus threat. He said that spam had increased from 8 per cent of all e-mail in 2001 to 50 per cent in 2003. The WA Internet Users' Association has advised computer users to never reply to spam messages and implement "anti-spam measures".
