Provisional agreement has been reached between the US Government, Global Crossing Limited and Singapore Technologies Telemedia over a proposed takeover. The Singapore-based telco wants to assume majority control of Global Crossing. ST Telemedia has offered security guarantees to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the US, which had expressed concerns over the degree to which the Singapore Government could have access to the domestic US network.
