Australian universities are entering into help-desk agreements with universities in other countries. Under the agreements the institutions provide after-hour help desk services for their partners, an arrangement that works as the assistance is made available during normal working hours by the provider. Macquarie University has entered into this type of agreement with the London School of Economics and the University of Colorado. The Council of Australian University Directors of IT is developing a database to match universities. The agreements typically do not require any exchange of money.
