Bank of America to bulk up European banking operations.

Bank of America plans to employ more staff in its London office. William Fall, the president of the bank, said that the company will hire 140 new investment bankers, increasing the number of its European staff by 15 per cent. In the first phase, the bank will recruit new staff in its businesses responsible for financial institutions, activities in France and Benelux countries, and European mergers and acquisitions. The recruitment drive of the bank is a sign of emerging optimism about the direction taken by equity markets.
