Car manufacturer, Honda Australia, will bring a new environmentally friendly model to Australia in 2004. The Civic Hybrid has Integrated Motor Assist technology. This is an electric booster motor which gives improved acceleration. This gives it the power of the current Civic model, but reduces the fuel consumption and emissions by more than half. The onboard battery pack is self-sustaining, not needing to be charged from mains power. Two other Honda models already meet European emission standards to be introduced in 2010.
