A potential for conflict.

The accounting profession is keeping a close eye on the initial performance of Knights Insolvency Administration on the stock market. This is not surprising, given that the three previous accounting firms to list on the Australian Stock Exchange (Stockford, Harts Australasia and Garrisons Accounting Group) have all collapsed. Their failure has led many accountants to question whether an accounting firm can become a successful public company. Should Knights also fail, it may be that investors will not support any further attempts by accounting firms to float on the sharemarket.
