Kangaroo bonds on the rebound.

Australia is moving outside the comfort zone of residential mortgage-backed bonds. Dutch banking and financial services group ABN Amro will launch kangaroo bonds for the first time in Australia. A roadshow will tour the country in the last week of September 2003, and the launch will occur shortly after. Meanwhile, Mobius Financial Processing has embarked on a roadshow around Australia for its $A200 million of non-conforming mortgages, which are being backed by loans bought from Pepper Homeloans. Mobius will issue the mortgages in October 2003.
