Kerry Properties joins venture to construct big project in Beijing.

Kerry Properties, a Hong Kong real estate developer, has formed a joint venture with China's Beijing Huayuan Property. Under the $HK2.7 billion ($US346.2 million) agreement, the two companies will construct residential properties in Beijing's Chaoyang District. The project will form part of a larger development. Beijing is being greatly redeveloped ahead of the 2008 Olympics. Kerry Properties management reports that the first phase of the project is scheduled for completion toward the end of 2005. The company will invest $HK1.45 billion yuan ($US175.2 million) in the venture.
