Simpler policies for privacy endorsed.

A meeting of international privacy commissioners in Australia has adopted a resolution to move to clearer privacy policies. Three options are currently on the table, including one from the World Wide Web Consortium, which is being adopted by some companies, such as Microsoft. Though the resolution has no legal force, the Australian privacy commissioner, Malcolm Crompton, said it was important in helping the issue of privacy evolve in the "global village".
