Whistleblower laws just tootling at the problem.

Australasian Business Intelligence, October, 2003

Accounting firm Deloitte has criticised the "whistleblower" provisions in the Australian Government's CLERP-9 law reform package. Tim Phillipps, head of Deloitte Forensic, says that the changes, designed to introduce greater protection for whistleblowers, will do little to actually deter corporate fraud and misconduct. Phillips says a particular limitation of the new provisions is that they only apply to whistleblowers who report to the Australian Securities & Investment Commission, not to management, the police or through other channels.
