Banks take interest in altruistic possibilities.

Australian investment banks are engaging in philanthropy. Joanne White, general manager of the Australian Charities Fund, says that ABN Amro, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, JBWere and JP Morgan have all undertaken work for charity organisations. UBS Australia has taken a further initiative by allowing 20 Year 11 students from public schools to participate in a finance academy at Macquarie University. Chris McKay, CEO of UBS Australia, says that employees at the firm wanted it to do more for the community.
