Cyber attacks getting better all the time.
Australasian Business Intelligence, October, 2003

Cyber attackers are stepping up their activity in Australia. The Symantec "Internet Security Threat Report" says that companies are fighting an average of 38 attacks every week. This would represent a 19 per cent increase in the calendar 2003 first half, compared with the corresponding period in 2002. Symantec Australia's MD, John Donovan, says the gap is being narrowed between discovery and exploitation. AusCERT's manager of analysis, Kathryn Kerr, says there is a concern with zero-day exploitations, where software flaws are exploited by virus writers before people have an opportunity to install security fixes.
