New generation of mobile-phone towers linked to headaches.
Australasian Business Intelligence, October, 2003

Results of a study indicate that radiation from third-generation (3G) mobile telephone towers can cause headaches and nausea. Those exposed to radio signals from current digital networks are unaffected. 3G networks allow the rapid transmission of data. Hutchison Telecommunications established its 3G network in Australia in April 2003. Spokesmen for Australia's mobile telephone industry say there is still no substantive evidence of the effects on health from telephone towers; a World Health Organization report has stated that there is no need for special precautions. There are about 500 3G base stations in the Sydney metropolitan area.
