Austrade and the University of New South Wales surveyed 340 exporters. They discovered that the use of electronic commerce is a significant determinant of export success. The study's head researcher, Munib Karavdi, advises exporters to create a different e-commerce strategy for each export market. Over 50 per cent of respondents indicated that e-commerce allows them to commercialise products more quickly and reduces the costs of customer transactions. Seventy-seven per cent of respondents used the Internet to answer customer queries.
