The dispute over the proposed management of Lend Lease US Office Trust escalated on 23 October 2003. This followed a report by Grant Samuels & Associates recommending that unitholders retain the incumbent manager of the trust, Morgan Stanley Realty, because it could not find any "compelling distinction" between the current manager and Colonial First State Investment's proposal to appoint US-based Principal Real Estate to run the trust. Morgan Stanley is buying the remaining assets of Lend Lease's US Real Estate Investments arm, which include the office trust.
