Computer Associates (CA) is a US-based software company. CA has announced it wants to reduce its workforce by five per cent in Australia. The company employs 551 people in Australia. In September 2004, two of CA's former executives were charged with securities fraud and obstruction of justice. It has settled a case with US federal prosecutors and said it will pay $US225 million ($A314.8 million). The investigations were conducted by the US Securities & Exchange Commission and the US Justice Department. CA's Australian subsidiary hopes to post a 25 per cent increase in revenue in 2004-05.
