Aussies donate $50m.(the tsunami fundraising program )(Brief Article)

Australians have responded generously to the fundraising program for victims of the devastating tsunami in Asia. Corporations and individuals have now promised more than $A50m for the disaster relief program. One of the biggest donations came from businessman Richard Pratt, giving $A1m via Visy Industries and the Pratt Foundation. Travel publisher Lonely Planet and Woolworths have both contributed $A500,000, while Wesfarmers has pledged $A250,000. Over $A641m has been pledged globally, according to Kofi Annan, the United Nations' Secretary-General.
