Companies slow to show they care.(Tsunami relief donations)(Brief Article)

Corporate Australia has not been as aggressive as individual Australians in making donations to tsunami victims. A total of $A51 million has been donated to tsunami victims in Asia. Of this, only $A7.8 million has come from Australian companies. This is despite the fact that corporate profits are increasing and the share market is soaring. Corporate Australia could do better, says Judy Slatyer, the CEO of Lonely Planet. Visy Industries has announced a $A1 million donation to Care Australia. Westfield Group plans to provide $A1 million to charities to help victims of the disaster.
