Patrick Corporation owns 45 per cent of Virgin Blue, the Australian budget airline. The company's chairman, Chris Corrigan, has not been happy with decisions taken by Virgin Blue in recent months. Virgin Blue is facing tough competition from Qantas offshoot Jetstar, and both airlines have embarked on massive price cuts. Corrigan, who spoke after Patrick's annual meeting on 3 February 2005, said it is satisfied with a controlling stake in the airline. He gave his backing to Virgin Blue CEO Brett Godfrey. On 3 February, Virgin Blue shares were steady at $A2.12.
