The global economy expanded at its fastest rate in nearly 30 years in 2004. Many experts think growth will remain fairly strong in 2005. A number of economic threats were discussed at the World Economic Forum's Board of Economists roundatable. These threats include a 40 per cent drop in the US dollar relative to the euro in the last three years and the huge US current account deficit, which is expected to exceed $US400 billion in 2005.
