Australian investors are edgy about Macquarie Airports' (MAp) latest acquisition. The company's share price fell by $A0.11 on 16 February 2005 to close at $A3.35, after MAp said it had paid $A282 million for an 11.3 holding in Copenhagen Airports, owner of Scandinavia's biggest airport and a minority owner in other airports in Great Britain, China and Mexico. Copenhagen Airports' share price has tripled in the past two years. ABN Amro fund manager Mark Nathan says that as a minority shareholder, MAp does not have the power to make decisions about cost reduction or strategy.
