Australian retailer, David Jones, reported good results for the second quarter of 2004-05. The department store had sales revenue of $A559.6 million, an increase of 4.7 per cent. Sales revenue for the first quarter rose by 5.5 per cent to $A977.7 million. The good results led CEO, Mark McInnes, to raise the forecast for full-year profit growth to the top of the predicted range of between five and 10 per cent. He said that consumer spending could be affected by increases in interest rates and the sales were likely to be flat in the second half of 2004-05.
