Australian telco, Optus, wants rival, Telstra, to be constrained for the benefit of the industry. Paul O'Sullivan, CEO of Optus, said that Telstra does not reduce its wholesale prices at the same rate as its retail prices. O'Sullivan called for a cap on local call resale prices and on line rental wholesale prices. He wants laws to stop Telstra trying to win back customers within a period of 180 days after they move to another carrier. O'Sullivan also wants the universal service obligation scheme to be dropped.
