PNG gas group wins big contract.(Papua New Guinea company Oil Search Ltd.)(Brief Article)

Australian-listed oil and gas producer Oil Search has signed a lucrative supply contract. The Papua New Guinea company will supply 86 petajoules of gas a year to a chemical plant in Port Moresby for a 20 year period. The chemical plant is still in the planning stages, but will eventually produce dimethyl ether or methanol. It will be developed by Japan's Mitsubishi Gas Chemical and Itochu. Oil Search shares closed at $A2.06 on 11 February 2005.
