An Australian study says people with low self-esteem and young extroverts are the most likely to ignore mobile telephone laws and have huge bills. According to the survey of 200 people aged between 18 and 85 by Monash University, it is these two personality types that often have trouble with their mobile telephone use. Participants in the study also underwent psychological testing. Researcher Adriana Bianchi says young people with low self-esteem often use their mobile telephones excessively to seek reassurance from others, while extroverts often use their mobiles inappropriately because of the need for excitement in their lives.
