In Australia, Grey Advertising may not notice initial differences in operation under British ownership. Great Britain-based WPP Group has paid $US1.75bn ($A2.2bn) for Grey Global Group. Until the acquisition, Grey was the last remaining independent international advertising agency in Australia. It now joins Ogilvy & Mather, JWT and Sudler & Hennessey as a subsidiary of WPP. WPP Australia chairman Geoff Wild says it will be a matter of "business as usual" in the Australian operation.
