Robbers have shot dead a Chubb Australia security guard at the North Blackburn shopping centre in Melbourne. The guard was walking with an escort guard to the Commonwealth Bank of Australia branch inside the shopping centre to make a cash delivery when they were ambushed by two armed robbers. The money was stolen, and the guard was shot despite both guards complying with the bandits' demands. The deceased guard is a former colleague of a security guard who was killed at a poker machine venue at Keysborough in November 2004.
