Xstrata CEO Mick Davies does not think BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto will launch counter-bids for WMC Resources. He believes that they are no longer interested in taking - nor do they need to take - risky steps, given that they are still profiting from the ambitious decisions of their predecessors. WMC is risky. Uranium has an image problem. Furthermore, the company is locked into low-priced contracts for the next four years and the reality is that superannuation funds with shares in WMC will not want to wait.
