Richard Walker, of Airbus Industrie, arrived in Australia in late 2004. Walker's official title is director of aircraft value enhancement Airbus asset management. Walker specialises in the "remarketability" of the European firm's jets. He explains that Airbus has increased the flexibility of its jets' fittings and technical aspects, in order to better meet the individual needs of airlines. It appears that carriers including Air France, Qantas, Singapore Airlines and Virgin Atlantic are secretly planning major innovations in all classes that will greatly alter their fleets.
