SingTel Optus has clinched a deal with Australia's fourth-biggest full-service telco, Primus. Primus has selected Optus's GSM network for the majority of its mobile telephone services ahead of incumbent provider Telstra and Vodafone Australia, which also tendered. Primus will still feed some business through Telstra's secondary CDMA network, but Primus's GM for strategy Campbell Sallabank says this amounts to less than 1.5 of the group's total customer base.
