The Cola-Cola Company's former global boss, Douglas Daft, claims "Coke" does not hold the solution to rising global levels of obesity. According to Daft, obesity is a "very complex" problem that is caused by factors ranging beyond food. In his address to a forum at the University of New South Wales on 23 March 2005, Daft claimed sedentary lifestyles are also a key factor. Daft said Coke does not have the answers. However, he conceded that the issue cannot be ignored.
