The National Centre for Language Training opens on 5 April 2005 in the Sydney suburb of Redfern. Granted about $A5 million by the Australian Government, the centre will give exporters crash courses in the language, cultural habits and business practices of the country in which they are trying to open markets. Director Ian Hamilton says graduates should be more likely to win business than untrained people. The centre is part of the University of New South Wales's non-profit unit, NewSouth Global. It works as a group of Australian universities and the Australian TAFE Consortium.
