Tax change will hit revenue.(Brief Article)

Australian Government revenue may decline because of changes to corporate taxation. A review of business taxation recommended that tax consolidation would simplify the tax system. It allows a group of companies to be treated as a single taxpayer. However, Professor Bob Deutsch, of the University of New South Wales, said that the new rules could lead to lower revenue. The Australian Taxation Office said that it is reviewing the benefits of the legislation to see if there are unintended consequences.
