There has been good news from the Australian regional pay TV group, Austar. It reported a net profit of $A7.8 million for the three months to 31 March 2005. The group had a rise in subscription fees, which lifted revenue by 21 to $A107 million. All the numbers for Austar were healthy in the March quarter. The group also reduced its operating costs in that time. Austar now has over 500,000 subscribers and 75 of these take the digital service. Austar has had no drop in sales in recent times.
