Things are looking up for the Australian regional pay-TV provider, Austar. Austar has reported an unaudited $A7.9 million profit for the quarter ended 31 March 2005. Austar benefited from an increase in subscriber numbers and subscriber fees. Revenues rose by 21 to $A107 million. Austar's costs also fell. Subscriber numbers rose to above 500,000 in April 2005. Austar shares rose by $A0.02 on 27 April to close at $A0.88.
