Bailey promises action on 'impediments'.(Bailey, Fran)(Brief Article)

Fran Bailey, the Australian Tourism Minister, addressed the Cruiseco conference. Bailey announced that the National Tourism Investment Strategy Consultative Group is due to issue recommendations on ways to overcome impediments to growth in the tourism sector by November 2005. She revealed that Warwick Smith, a director of Macquarie Bank, will chair the review committee. Matthew Hingerty, the MD of the Australian Tourism Export Council, stressed the need to ensure that ports can handle the growth in inbound traffic.
