ECJ Advocate General addresses French limitation on VAT deduction.(Brief Article)

France's value added tax (VAT) treatment of acquisitions of capital assets funded by investment subsidies has been questioned. However, the European Court of Justice's Advocate General, M Poiares Maduro, says the restriction on the deductibility of VAT in Sections 150 and 151 of France's tax circular 3 CA-94 is not in the spirit of article 17 of the European Commission's Sixth VAT Directive.
