HBOS prepares to shake up commercial banking.(Brief Article)

HBOS Australia opened its first business banking centre in the eastern states at Chatswood, Sydney on 18 April 2005. By the end of the year it plans to have nine other centres. BankWest, the retail division of HBOS, has increased its business banker numbers to 75 this year. According to JP Morgan, HBOS is hoping that Australia will prove as successful as Ireland in terms of business banking. In Ireland, it has the second-highest share of the small to medium enterprise market.
