Seek is expected to make its sharemarket debut on 19 April 2005, after "administrative issues" forced its postponement for one day. The Australian Stock Exchange has indicated that the delay was caused by a "misunderstanding" concerning the need for all of Seek's shares to be allocated by midday on 18 April. Seek CEO Paul Bassat stresses that the turbulent market conditions that were expected on 18 April were not responsible in any way for the one-day delay. Seek's stock was issued at $A2.10, raising $A162.3m for the operator of an online jobs database.
