Western Australian (WA) builders and contractors should not be intimidated into early renegotiations of enterprise agreements. So believes the WA Chamber of Commerce. Despite the fact that WA lost more days to strikes than any other state in 2004, the chamber believes there is no advantage for companies to give in to the pressure. The current deals lapse in October 2005, but the Australian Government is tightening industrial relations laws before then.
