Paul Otellini will take over from Craig Barrett as CEO of US chip manufacturer Intel in May 2005. He takes over as Intel comes out of a tough year in 2004, which saw it impacted by manufacturing delays and pricing blunders, along with serious competition from its main rival Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).
